Tonight’s match features Virginia, NC State, Georgia, and Alabama, and if the speed we saw last night was any indication, it would not be absurd to suggest we will see some times close to NCAA records tonight.
Just like yesterday, SwimSwam will be covering the match live, but we know a little more about what to expect when it comes to format.
Power Rankings
The Virginia women were the #1 ranked women’s team in our pre-season power rankings after they have won the last six NCAA Championship titles.
The NC State men are the highest ranked men’s team at #7 in our power rankings, just one spot ahead of the Virginia men, who are ranked #8. The NC State women are also ranked #7.
The Georgia women are ranked #13 and the men are ranked #16, both of which come in ahead of Alabama’s rankings of #16 for the women and #19 for the men.

Jackpots happen when the athlete who wins beats any of the athletes by a predetermined amount outlined in the rules here. The winner steals the points of all athletes who they beat by the margin.
If they only beat the 8th place athlete by the designated amount, they will earn 10 points. If they beat the 7th and 8th place athletes, they will earn 11 points etc.
We are anticipating a few jackpots tonight as well.

Women’s
200 Back: Claire Curzan, Teagan O’Dell, Leah Shackley, and Erika Pelaez will all be on one side of the pool, and after Miranda Grana swam a 1:49 last night, anything feels possible 100 IM: In a race as quick as the 100 IM, there are very few outcomes that would be completely surprising to see. Virginia has O’Dell and Hayes in the mix, and with the addition of Erika Pelaez, we could see some fast times. Freestyle: All the women’s freestyle races could be very fast tonight. Sara Curtis and Anna Moesch will both be racing freestyle for Virginia along with Alamba’s Cadence Vincent, who should make the races exciting. 100 Breast: One of the few spots where the Cavaliers will not be the favorites to win this evening are the women’s breaststroke events. NC State’s Eneli Jefimova will be a force, particularly in the 100 where she is the reigning NCAA championMen’s
200 back: The first races were the fastest yesterday, with athletes getting tired as the meet went on. The men’s 200 back features David King and Tommy Hagar, who were both ‘A’ finalists at the 2026 NCAA Championships, and will be meeting again tonight. 100 free: With the 100 free and 200 IM being on the same day last season, Virginia’s Maximus Williamson did not race the event at NCAAs. He will be in it tonight, along with NC State’s Jerry Fox, who finished 10th in the event last year. 200 IM: Williamson will also take on the 200 IM, where he is the reigning NCAA Champion. He will be racing NC State’s Daniel Diehl, who was also in the final. 100 fly: Thomas Heilman, an NCAA ‘A’ finalist, will take on the men’s 100 fly. Just behind him is NC State’s Kaii Winkler, who has not historically focused on the event, but might need to this season after NC State lost Aiden Hayes.SwimSwam’s Prediction
The match will be scored as a combined men’s and women’s meet, which makes it hard to predict any team other than Virginia on top of the rankings. NC State feels very safe for 2nd, and Alabama’s more sprint oriented programs are designed to do better in the CSL and skins format, making them the choice for 3rd.
