On Friday, Sept. 25, BARK, the dog brand behind BarkBox, will release The Most Forever Home, a human-sized coffin designed for dogs and their humans to spend eternity together. Yes, it is an actual coffin.
“Dog parents already share their bed, their couch and in my case usually half my dinner with dogs, so why not share forever? Liquid Death gets that kind of dedication, and The Most Forever Home was the natural next step in our collaboration,” Dave Stangle, VP of Brand at BARK, tells PARADE. “It can be good for napping side by side for an afternoon, or eternity. If dog parents want to make it official, well, where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

Before it becomes a final resting place, though, the coffin doubles as a cozy bed where dog parents and their pups can curl up together. The brands are also giving dog parents a way to put their final wishes into writing.
BARK is offering a free “Final Wishes” document that lets dog parents formally request to be buried with their dogs and specify exactly how they’d like to spend eternity together. Options include being buried side by side, cuddled up together in the coffin, or even being cremated together.
Only three Most Forever Home coffins will be available, and BARK is selling them for just $1 each. The limited release begins at 2 p.m. EST on Friday, Sept. 25, on BARK’s website.
The coffin is the latest addition to the limited-edition BARK and Liquid Death collection, which includes dog toys, wearables, and treats inspired by the beverage brand.
While it may sound like a particularly dark take on the classic dog bed, the concept taps into something many dog parents already understand, because for people who consider their dogs family, the idea of never wanting to be separated from them doesn’t end when they do.
