Horror fans have a new reason to head to AMC Theatres this October. The movie chain is teaming up with horror metal band Ice Nine Kills for Welcome to Horrorwood, a five-film series that brings classic horror movies back to the big screen with a special musical twist.
The five-film series kicks off on Oct. 2 at 300 participating AMC Theatres locations nationwide. To add a little extra spookiness to each screening, the films will be presented with an intro recorded by Ice Nine Kills’ Spencer Charnas and will close with a horror-inspired music video from the metal band.
What Is AMC’s ‘Welcome to Horrorwood’ Horror Movie Series?
Inspired by Ice Nine Kills’ albums The Silver Scream and The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood, the AMC Thrills & Chills presentation comes from a partnership with entertainment brand Bloody Disgusting. The series pairs the band’s love of horror films with five films that AMC believes have helped define the genre.
Each film screening will feature a custom introduction from Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas before the movie begins. After the film, a music video from Ice Nine Kills inspired by the feature will play to close out the event.
