After performing the third show of her highly anticipated Paris residency on Friday, September 18, the singer had an unexpected encore waiting for her outside her hotel. Dion climbed barefoot onto the hood of a parked BMW, where she sang and danced with a crowd of fans gathered outside.

Dion, 58, was captured hopping onto the black car before removing her slippers and settling onto the hood as fans surrounded the vehicle. When her 1995 French-language hit “Pour Que Tu M’aimes Encore” began playing, she immediately joined in.
The crowd sang along as Dion swayed to the music, tapped her feet and conducted her fans from her very unconventional stage. At one point, she even stretched out across the hood of the car before getting back up and continuing to dance.
The spontaneous moment ended with Dion clapping along with the crowd and making a heart shape with her hands before saying goodbye to the fans.
It was a fittingly joyful moment for the singer, who has spent years working toward her return to the stage.
Dion kicked off her 26-show Paris residency on Sept. 12 at the Plenitude Arena in nearby Nanterre, marking her first full concert in more than six years. Her live career was interrupted first by the COVID-19 pandemic and then by her diagnosis of stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that can cause muscle stiffness, painful spasms and mobility problems.
Her return to performing has been an emotional one. During the opening night of her residency, Dion became visibly emotional just seconds into the first song before telling the audience that she had made a promise to come back.
The singer has also made it clear that her fans played a major role in bringing her back to the stage. Ahead of the residency, Dion said the performances were a way to show her longtime supporters how much she had missed them.
The feeling appears to be very much mutual.
Dion’s Paris residency is scheduled to continue through May 2027, giving fans plenty more opportunities to see the superstar on stage.
