“As soon as I put the phone back, it rang. Long distance calling, Mr. Page,” Des Barres continued.
“The first thing he said was, ‘Oh, the elusive Miss Pamela. You took the phone off the hook again because you know I was calling.'”
The rock muse added, “We talked for half an hour about everything. He said he was going to come to the store where I was working, sweep me off my feet, and take me away in his white chariot. Amazing. I wish I could write everything he said.”
“He told me about his house on the river and the peacocks walking by his bedroom window. “I wish I would have known you for years and years,” he said to me,” she continued.
“Jimmy, Jimmy, what am I doing? Good question, right?” Des Barres laughed.
