Gerber returned to that mission in an emotional Instagram video posted on Dec. 1, 2025.
“I feel like honesty is the best policy,” he said in the since-deleted video, according to People.
Gerber spoke openly about experiencing severe panic attacks, depression and uncertainty over his treatment. He also shared some of the steps he was taking to improve his well-being, including exercising, avoiding alcohol and seeking a supportive community.
Despite his own uncertainty, Gerber said he hoped the video would “reach people in many ways.”

“So you feel like you’re not alone, because that is how I feel most of the time,” he explained. “I have a feeling that if I say all of this, a lot of people will at least know that there’s someone else going through it.”
Gerber was the older brother of model and actress Kaia Gerber. He followed his mother and sister into fashion, working with brands including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana and Moschino.
