Dancing With The Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba is sharing her thoughts after the two newest professional dancers were the first two eliminated from season 35.
The two-night premiere saw first-time pros Adele Zaikman and Hailey Bills be eliminated alongside their respective partners, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives‘ Conner Leavitt and Love Thy Nader star Sarah Jane Nader.
Zaikman joined the show after winning the DWTS spin-off The Next Pro while Bills was on the dance troupe last season and previously competed on DWTS: Juniors in 2018.
When the coincidence was pointed out to Inaba shortly after the premiere wrapped, she shared her thoughts on the two newbies being the first to leave the ballroom this season.
“Somebody just pointed out to me that it was the two new pros that were eliminated tonight, which is sad.” she told E! News. “But also, this is part of their process. They are going learn so much from what happened, not that that was the intention of it all.”
“But I think it’s going to be great, because I think both of them have so much potential,” she continued. “And Hailey’s been here for a while, she’s been on this dance floor. She knows what’s up. They just had a rough night.”

Of the current professional dancers on the cast, Bills’ aunt Jenna Johnson and Ezra Sosa were also eliminated first on their inaugural season.
Zaikman and Bills will now perform with the dance troupe for the rest of the season and will make social media content with the rest of the “Eliminated Pros” online—a fan-favorite tradition from the last few seasons.
DWTS airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
