Indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie has announced its latest string of tour dates in support of its latest studio album.
The Washington rockers, which consist of frontman Benjamin Gibbard, bassist Nicholas Harmer, drummer Jason McGerr, guitarist Dave Depper, and keyboardist and guitarist Zac Rae, shared tour dates across North America, beginning in early 2027.
Kicking off in Honolulu on Jan. 19, 2027, the “Soul Meets Body” hitmakers will tour extensively across the U.S. and Canada through spring, stopping in major cities and performing at iconic venues that include two nights at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, Mass., on Apr. 7 and 8, 2027, and one night at the famed Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Apr. 13.
An exclusive artist presale begins Wednesday, Sept 23rd at 10am local time, with a local presale kicking off on Thursday, Sept 24th at 10am local time. General public tickets will be available on Friday, Sept 25th at 10am local time. In addition to the tour announcement, the band behind the certified platinum hit song “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” shared a music video for the latest single “Stone Over Water,” taken off its eleventh studio album, I Built You A Tower.
The video was directed and created by musician and animator Sean Solomon, who explained that he normally only animates music videos for his own songs, and noted that he found “Stone Over Water” to be “incredibly personal.”
“I think everyone can relate to the little man in the video having a bad day. But I wanted the video to ultimately have a positive message even though it’s sad,” Solomon said in a press release. “Everyone is going through something, and sometimes helping others can be a way to get out of our own heads and remember we’re not alone.”
Death Cab for Cutie is currently on the road in the United Kingdom and Europe, before heading to Asia and Australia later this year.
