Spin Doctors are taking their 1991 debut album back on the road, song by song.
On Monday, Sept. 14, the band announced a 2027 tour marking 35 years of Pocket Full of Kryptonite, with the album played in full and in order. The shows will also include fan favorites from the rest of the band’s career. The run opens Feb. 18 at The Vogue in Indianapolis and wraps March 20 at Paradise Rock Club in Boston.

Spin Doctors formed in New York City in 1988 and broke through with the album three years later. According to the press release provided to Parade, the album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, went 5× Platinum and sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.
“Two Princes” reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a Grammy nomination. “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” got to No. 17.
The record also put the band on The Late Show With David Letterman, The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Saturday Night Live, Top of the Pops and the cover of Rolling Stone.
“It’s hard to believe any of us are old enough to have performed any adult task 35 years ago,” frontman Chris Barron said. “When we made that album, there was a palpable sensation that we were catching something magical. It’s gratifying and fulfilling to have people still loving it and wanting to hear us play something we did all those years ago.”
Drummer Aaron Comess, one of the band’s founding members, echoed that.
“We could not be more grateful for the longevity of Pocket Full of Kryptonite,” he said. “We all truly enjoy playing this diverse collection of songs together after all these years. It’s going to be a blast to celebrate 35 years together.”
Where the Band Is Now
Last year, Spin Doctors released Face Full of Cake, their first album in 12 years and their first on Capitol Records. It was also the studio debut for bassist Jack Daley, who plays alongside founding members Barron, Comess and Eric Schenkman. The band recorded it at Daley’s studio in Asbury Park, N.J.
The band has been on the road behind it this year, including co-headlining dates with Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms.
