The final Chicago Bears injury report of Week 1 is out. But if you were hoping for clarity on Rome Odunze and the other Bears players, I’m sorry to say you’ll have to wait until game day. Odunze, quarterback Tyson Bagent, safety Xavier Woods, and offensive lineman Ozzy Trapilo were all listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
Some injury notes:
Let’s start with the good news on Rome Odunze:Bears WR Rome Odunze (calf – questionable) says he’s good to go for Sunday vs. Panthers.
— Jason Lieser (@JasonLieser) September 11, 2026 Seeing the tweet above from Sun-Times reporter Jason Lieser makes me feel good about Odunze’s chances of playing this week. Odunze was listed as a limited participant on each of the team’s three participation reports this week. But it sounds like the wideout will be ready to roll on Sunday. Phew.EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR WEEK 1
Trapilo was limited in practice all week. His questionable designation makes me feel like his return could come sooner than expected. I still don’t expect Trapilo to play on Sunday. However, not being ruled out on Friday is encouraging when thinking about the bigger picture. Jun 3, 2025; Lake Forest, IL, USA; Ozzy Trapilo (75) runs on the field during minicamp at Halas Hall. Mandatory Credit: Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images Woods is expected to start in place of Coby Bryant, who is on the shelf for 4-6 months after an injury he suffered during an August training camp practice. If Woods can’t play, the Bears’ secondary will look to mix and match to find what works. Will Cam Lewis step into the starting safety role next to Dillon Thieneman? Or will that opportunity go to Elijah Hicks? If it is Lewis, then who plays the slot corner position? Is that Malik Muhammad’s music I’m hearing?SUBSCRIBE TO THE BN BEARS PODCAST HERE: Apple | Spotify | YouTube
Bagent didn’t practice all week because of a back issue. But the fact that he is listed as questionable despite not practicing suggests he could be available as a backup.Chicago Bears Injury Report — September 11, 2026
