“The idea came about because Ryan and I have two songs together [‘A Poca Luz’ and ‘4LIFE’],” Hamilton tells Billboard. “We have grown as friends, and my team and his have a lot of mutual respect and are very close. That’s how the idea of me joining him on this tour happened.”
With a velvety voice and a pleasant Afro-tropical vibe, the artist born in Cartagena de Indias in 1999 has been dubbed the Afro Rockstar. In addition to his collabs with Castro, he’s also received the stamp of approval from artists such as Farruko, De La Ghetto, Justin Quiles and Lenny Tavárez.
Now, as the opening act on Castro’s 17-date North American stint, Hamilton hopes to conquer new fans.
“My strategy is to give it all the energy I can and really engage with the audience so they catch the spirit of who I am — so they feel my music and the vibe, and connect with me as an artist,” he shares. “I always give it my all. I love singing for a new audience because once they get to know me and hear my music, they get hooked on who I am and never look back.”
He’s also taking advantage of life on the road to learn from Castro’s work ethic, emphasizing that with hard work and discipline, anything is possible.
“Ryan has always taught me to keep my feet on the ground, to remain simple and humble, and to stay highly focused — avoiding gossip and always working honestly to make things happen,” he says. “There is nothing better than having peace of mind and working toward your own goals.”
Hamilton — one of Billboard’s Latin Artists to Watch in 2026 — is currently making the rounds with his single “Quien Me Mandó?” in collaboration with Zaider, and is working on a project called “El Pelaito de CTG,” which loosely translates to “the boy from Cartagena.”
