In a cheeky response to Juilliard’s Instagram post — which struck a more serious tone, making it clear that Stiles did not attend the school while her Save the Last Dance character got accepted — Sarah Lawrence College, which Stiles’ 10 Things I Hate About You character was also accepted, took to social media clearly in on the joke.

While commenters on Juilliard’s post were quick to note how the caption missed the opportunity for a fun social media moment, Stiles commented on it saying, “Oh my goodness! Thank you! Best of luck to your amazing students.”

She and her DWTS partner Ezra Sosa also acknowledged the post in a chat with E! News at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards this week.
“I heard about it, because I think that Juilliard actually posted saying, ‘For the record, she did not go to our school,'” Stiles said, to which Sosa added, “which was kind of shady, but honestly, really funny.”
