On Thursday, Sept. 8, Page Six reported that Jimmy Kimmel‘s late-night show is set to end after Season 24, which is currently airing. “His contract is not getting extended,” a source familiar with the situation reportedly told the outlet.

Not long after the story was published, however, an ABC Entertainment spokesperson denied the claim. “This information is inaccurate,” they told People. “Any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative.”
The conflicting reports came on the same day that Kimmel was set to return to Jimmy Kimmel Live! after a two-month summer break. In his absence, several guest hosts filled in, including Tiffany Haddish, Colman Domingo, Ike Barinholtz, Anthony Anderson, Rosie O’Donnell, and Jelly Roll.
