Police asked people to avoid part of a south suburb during an investigation after a person was struck by a bus driver on Tuesday afternoon and warned of heavy traffic delays.
Just after 4 p.m., Frankfort police said a pedestrian was struck by a bus on Aberdeen Road just west of Harlem Avenue.
“Heavy Police and EMS presence in the area. Avoid the area, if possible, due to road closures. Heavy delays are expected,” police said in a social media post.
Aerial video captured by NBC Chicago Sky 5 of the scene showed two yellow school buses near several marked police cars on the residential street. Many other vehicles were parked on the street in the area and a crowd of people could also be seen nearby.
