A 13-year-old boy was critically injured when he was shot by a 9-year-old boy inside a Chicago residence on Friday afternoon, police said.
Around 4 p.m., the two kids were inside a residence on the 5200 block of South Wells Street in the Fuller Park neighborhood when the 9-year-old boy fired one shot and struck the 13-year-old boy in the shoulder, police said.
The 13-year-old was transported to a local hospital, police said, and was initially listed in critical condition.
Authorities recovered a handgun from the scene and are continuing to investigate.
