ONTARIO, N.Y. — A 47-year-old man is facing various charges following an investigation into child sexual abuse material.
Casey Behrendt, of Ontario, is charged with two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and ten counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
State Police say the investigation started when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children got multiple CyberTipline reports on files containing child sexual abuse material that was uploaded through the messaging platform Kik.
On July 28, a search warrant was executed at a home on Furnace Road in the Town of Ontario and multiple electronics were seized.
Investigators say they discovered thousands of images and videos containing suspected child sexual abuse material on one of the phones seized.
Behrendt was arrested on Aug. 27. Behrendt was brought to the Monroe County Jail for arraignment.
