Stove God Cooks insinuated that he may or may not be on this mythical album JAY-Z is supposedly making.
In a clip that’s been floating around rap social media circles, the Syracuse MC stopped by The Joe Budden Podcast recently and revealed that he sent Jigga a hook to use however and whenever he wants to.
“I sent Hov a hook. Don’t let me get on this album. I’m really gonna dance on you n—as. Now we gonna talk,” he proclaimed, before making sure he mentioned that he has no clue if a new album is coming or not. “I’m not confirming that big homie got an album coming out, but big homie, if you got an album coming out, use that hook I sent you. You know I was talking on that verse. Let’s do that.”
He added that he doesn’t want any money or percentage points for his contribution to whatever Jay has cooking; all he wants is a Roc-A-Fella chain. “I don’t want nothing. Keep everything,” he said. “Just send a Roc chain. I don’t want no percentage. Just send a Roc chain.”
Stove has been dealing with his own issues when it comes to albums. Fans have been clamoring for his sophomore project since he dropped the Roc Marciano-produced classing Reasonable Drought back in 2020 and had a show-stealing hook on “F.I.C.O.” off the Grammy-winning Clipse album.
However, after many pump fakes and back-and-forths with his current label Babygrande, however, it looks like they’ve finally hashed things out and found common ground because he posted that they renegotiated a new deal on his Instagram Stories earlier this week. “I salute real sh–, always,” he wrote. “Respect to Chuck [Wilson] at Babygrande. He came and sat down face-to-face and we got the renegotiation done! Album on the way.”
As far as a new JAY-Z album is concerned, though? Roc Nation deaded those rumors earlier this month, calling the unsubstantiated claims “fake news” on the company’s IG Stories.
