2026 NE LA August SCY Invitational
Aug. 6-9, 2026 Norton, MA SCY (25 yards) ResultsThere are new standards to be set for the boys’ 10 & under age group in both the 50 and 100 breast, thanks to what George Xuan did at the NE LA August SCY Invitational.
Xuan, who was 10 at the time of the meet but has since turned 11, clocked personal best times in both events, producing a 50 breast time of 32.10 in prelims and finishing with a time of 1:09.44 in the finals of the 100 breast.
Xuan won both events in his age group, finishing with a time of 32.30 in the finals of the 50 breast.
Entering the meet, Xuan’s personal best in the 50 breast was 32.91, set in June, while his previous best in the 100 breast was 1:11.77.
Xuan is now 1st in the boys’ 10 & under age group in both the 50 and 100 breast for the 2025-26 season.
Other standouts of the meet were:
Ethan Guo, an impending sophomore at Yale, had personal best times to win the 50 free (20.40), 50 back (21.81) and 50 fly (21.40) in the boys’ competition. Vivie Larrabee, 15, won the 200 back during the girls’ competition for her age group in 2:03.77, which was a personal best time. Larrabee also clocked a personal best time of 27.12 to finish 3rd in the 50 fly. Chase Whitman, 16, swept 1st-place finishes in the breaststroke events for his age group in the boys’ competition, all in personal best times. Whitman won the 50 breast in 25.83, the 100 breast in 55.67 and the 200 breast in 2:01.86. Whitman also won the 200 IM in a personal best time of 1:51.96. Nora Skehan, 16, had personal best times to win the 50 fly (25.83) and the 100 fly (56.48) for her age group in the girls’ competition.
