The Queensland native held on to her top seed from prelims to lower Kato Kotomi’s two year old record by just under three tenths of a second. Despite being under Kotomi’s pace on the first 50 in prelims, Ribot De Bresac initially ended up finishing just a tenth off the record. Tonight, she opened even faster then turned on another gear to shave three tenths off her closing lap. It was her early speed that enabled her to break the Jr. Pan Pacs record, as Kotomi came home in a near identical time.

Toohey boasts a best of 1:05.97 from the 2026 Australian Trials in June and finished 9th in this event at the senior Pan Pac Championships last week.
