2026 PAN PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIPS
August 12-15, 2026 Irvine, California William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center LCM (50 meters) Meet Central Psych Sheets Live Results Live Stream (USA Swimming YouTube) Recaps Prelims: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 Finals: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3In the preliminaries of yesterday’s 200 backstroke, 16-year-old Dani Linares Danzos lowered her own Mexican record in the 200 backstroke down to 2:08.99.
She’s the first Mexican, and the first woman representing a Latin American country, to crack the 2:10 barrier. Prior to this season, Fernanda Gonzalez owned the national mark at 2:10.75 from 2012. Linares Danzos has dipped under that barrier several times: first at Mexico’s national selection qualifying meet, then at California’s Super League Long Course Championships, and most recently en route to gold at the Central American and Caribbean Games in the Dominican Republic. This morning, her first sub-2:09 swim consisted of splits of 30.77/32.28/32.81/33.13. By 100s, this represents a 1:03.05/1:05.94 effort. Her best time of these meets came from the Super League at 2:09.89, which she shaved nearly a second off of this week.
As a USA Swimming member and athlete at the Pleasanton Seahawks in California, Linares Danzos shows up in the organization’s rankings. For her 15-16 age group, she ranks third this year and 12th overall. This year, she trails Audrey Derivaux and Ellie Clarke. In the all-time age group rankings, her Pan Pacs performance leap-frogs Linares Danzos over names like Phoebe Bacon and Alex Walsh.
