A community event brought together dozens of resources for people in need on Friday.
Community Action Day took place at Parcel 5 in downtown Rochester. Action for a Better Community connected people with services for healthcare, housing, finances and more.
The event also featured live music, family activities and raffles. Organizers said it’s their calling to help people in the margins have a fighting chance at a better life.
“These are some really challenging times, but this is what we’re built for,” Underwood said.
“We’re really, really proud that so many people have showed up. So many other organizations are here because we all know that none of us can do this very, very difficult work by ourselves,” Underwood said.
Action for a Better Community was given a proclamation by Monroe County and the city Thursday. The agency provides opportunities for low-income households.
