If fans’ reaction to leaked footage from 2027’s Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is any indication, the wait for the next installment is going to be agonizing.
Despite co-writer and producer Chris Miller showing his disappointment with the X comment: “Not a fan of leaks of unfinished, not fully rendered footage,” Spider-Man aficionados are thrilled with what they’re seeing.
“HOLY S**T WE’RE NOT JUST BACK WHEN NEVER EVEN LEFT WATCHED THIS WHOLE THING WITH THE BIGGEST GRIN RAAHHHH,” wrote one excited fan.

At April’s CinemaCon, Miller was joined by his co-writer and fellow producer Phil Lord, along with directors Justin K. Thompson and Bob Persichetti. Part of the footage seems to be taken partly from what was shown, along with splices of other scenes. Miller called the film (via The Hollywood Reporter) “the most emotional Spider-Verse film we have ever made.”

Having to take it apart to put it back together again was really, really [the] real thing that made it take longer,” Miller admitted to Gizmodo.
Now that they’ve been given a look at the new film, many are feeling a new sense of calm, confident that Beyond the Spider-Verse will be worth the wait.
“This movie is going to change my life, and this trilogy is going to be the most beautiful thing I’ve ever witnessed,” commented another on the four and a half minutes of footage. “What they’ve done and are going to do with Miles’ Spider-Man in this sequel is PERFECT.”
