2026 PAN PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIPS
August 12-15, 2026 Irvine, California William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center LCM (50 meters) Meet Central Psych Sheets Live Results Live Stream (USA Swimming YouTube)Relay lineups for the 800 free relays on Thursday at the Pan Pac Championships have dropped, and the biggest news is that they’re letting Canada’s men’s “B” relay swim in the same heat as the 7 “A” relays, saving about 10 minutes off the timeline.

See the women’s lineups here.Beyond that, the news is that the Americans have chosen Aaron Shackell and Patrick Sammon to swim the middle two legs between Wednesday night’s gold and silver medalists in the individual 200 free Luke Hobson (leadoff) and Gabriel Jett (anchor).
Shackell earned his spot by going 1:45.19 in the heats on Wednesday, the third-fastest American on the day, but the Sammon pick as the fourth leg is the one that will raise eyebrows.
Sammon swam 1:46.15 in prelims of the event, yet he leapfrogged Henry McFadden (1:45.61 in prelims, 1:45.22 last summer). Other plausible options coming into the meet were Rex Maurer (1:45.13 last summer, 1:47.42 in prelims) and Chris Guiliano (1:45.38 in March, 1:46.45 in prelims), plus Carson Foster (1:45.45 last summer).
Australia, meanwhile, have chosen to use their three best from the individual event in Maximillian Giuliani, Kai Taylor, and Charlie Hawke, but using the hot-handed Sam Short as the fourth leg of Elijah Winnington, their fourth-best in the individual event.

Australia’s relay will include Lani Pallister, the individual event champion, who was 2.3 seconds better than any American in the individual event on Wednesday. Australia will count on her to neutralize Katie Ledecky on the anchor leg and then, on paper, the teams are pretty evenly matched on the other three legs.
