In today's episode, social worker Ruth (Amy Drake) contacted Tim to say that her foster placement had fallen through and that it would take some time to find a suitable family. Although Sally was sympathetic, she knew that they already had their hands full with the Michaelis children.
As Ruth explained that Lucy was suffering with grief and trauma, and that she'd need extra support. Sally was unsure whether they'd be able to cope with her, unaware that Lucy was listening in from upstairs.
While Sally and Tim believed they'd made some progress with her, it soon became clear that they'd bitten off more than they could chew.
