Egypt ranks second by nationality on Forbes Middle East’s 2026 list, with 15 Egyptian chief operating executives (CEOs) represented across banking, real estate, finance, energy, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and other major sectors.

Seven Egyptian-headquartered companies also feature in the ranking, underscoring the growing regional influence of the country’s corporate leaders. Egypt accounts for nearly 15 percent of the individuals represented in the ranking.

Hisham Talaat Moustafa: Egypt’s Real Estate Powerhouse

One of the highest-ranked Egyptian business leaders is Hisham Talaat Moustafa, CEO and Managing Director of Talaat Moustafa Group Holding (TMG Holding), an Egyptian multinational real estate development company, who ranks No. 30. 

TMG has expanded beyond Egypt into markets including Saudi Arabia and Oman, while continuing to develop some of Egypt’s largest integrated residential and hospitality communities. 

Mohamed El-Etreby: Leading Egypt’s Largest Bank

Mohamed El-Etreby, CEO of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), is the highest-ranked Egyptian CEO from the country’s banking sector. El-Etreby assumed his position in 2024. NBE, Egypt’s largest bank, has more than 35,000 employees and hundreds of branches nationwide.

Hisham Ezz Al-Arab and Hisham Okasha: Egypt’s Banking Giants

Hisham Ezz Al-Arab, CEO of Commercial International Bank (CIB), ranks No. 46, while Hisham Okasha, Chairman of Banque Misr, ranks No. 47. 

Ezz Al-Arab is a prominent Egyptian banker with more than four decades of international banking experience across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. During his leadership, Ezz Al-Arab transformed CIB from a wholesale lender into Egypt’s largest private-sector bank, while championing corporate governance, risk management, digital transformation, sustainability, and regional expansion.

Okasha, meanwhile, was appointed to his current position at Banque Misr in September 2024. Forbes notes that Banque Misr operates more than 880 digitally integrated branches across Egypt, in addition to its international and regional presence.

Karim Awad, Group CEO and Chairman of the Executive Committee at EFG Holding

Karim Awad has led EFG Holding since 2013 and has overseen its evolution into a diversified financial-services group spanning investment banking, non-bank financial services and commercial banking. EFG’s fintech arm Valu also completed a landmark listing on the Egyptian Stock Exchange in 2025.

Ankush Arora, CEO of Mansour Automotive 

Ankush Arora, CEO of Mansour Automotive, has been ranked 79th on the list. The recognition highlights his role in driving the growth of Mansour Automotive, one of Egypt’s leading homegrown automotive companies. 

Most recently, Mansour Automotive broke ground on a USD 150 million (EGP 7.5 billion) eco-friendly vehicle plant in Egypt, which is expected to produce 50,000 hybrid and electric vehicles annually in its first phase and create up to 10,000 jobs.

Dalia Khorshid, Group CEO and Managing Director of Beltone Holding

Dalia Khorshid brings a different dimension to Egypt’s financial-services story. The former Egyptian Minister of Investment has led Beltone since 2022, during a period of rapid expansion into new financial products and investment platforms. Beltone’s operating revenue surged more than fourfold in the first nine months of 2024, according to Forbes.

Throughout her career, spanning her work at Orascom, her founding of financial advisory firms, and her leadership at Beltone, she has advised on and managed dozens of strategic transactions and multi-billion-dollar fundraising initiatives, directly impacting corporate growth and liquidity in the MENA region.
