Chicago police were investigating after two people were shot on the city’s Near North Side, fire officials said Monday night.
The shooting happened at around 9 p.m. on West Chicago Avenue near North Dearborn Street.
A Chicago Fire Department spokesperson said two people were shot and taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
People nearby told NBC Chicago they heard up to 20 shots fired.
Streets were blocked off while officers investigated.
Chicago police had yet to provide any information late Monday night.
