Exactly how much time Burden will miss is tough to tell based on the information available. Groin injuries can linger and Burden’s calling card is his explosiveness and abnormal ability to make defenders miss after the catch, so it would be wise for Chicago not to rush him back into action.

The NFL regular season kicks off on Sept. 9, which is about 4 weeks from now. The Bears play their first game on Sept. 13 against Carolina.

Burden is set for a monster second season with former Bears WR DJ Moore now in Buffalo. Burden became a favorite target of QB Caleb Williams at the end of last season, and he’s a threat to snag the WR1 role in Chicago.
