Highlighting those swims was 16 year old Heba Fouitah as she dropped another second off her lifetime best in the 200 IM. Fouitah entered the month with a lifetime best 2:19.36 in the event. She dropped to a 2:18.83 at US Nationals last week before swimmign a 2:17.57 to finish 10th at Juniors this week.
A pair of 14 year olds also highlighted the girls 200 IM. Summer Shaves dropped almost half a second off her previous lifetime best of a 2:19.43 and got down to a 2:19.01 for 13th. Touching right behind her for 14th was fellow 14 year old Marina Didenko who touched in a 2:19.29. Didenko dropped almost two seconds from her previous best 2:21.10 from July 2025. Didenko was the 61st seed coming into the meet.
Leading the way on the boys side was Nash King. King, an Alabama commit for 2027, dropped 1.69 seconds from his lifetime best in the boys 200 IM. King entered the meet as the #18 seed with a 2:05.97 he swam last year at Summer Juniors for 18th. He swam to a 2:04.28 in the final this year for 7th overall. Also improving greatly from their seed into a top 8 finish was Joey Sudermann as he was the #30 seed with a 2:06.74 and swam to a 2:04.52 for 8th.
The boys 50 free saw Julian Rusk touched in a 23.02 to win the ‘B’ final. that was a 0.49 second drop for the 2027 Florida State commit. Rusk was 32nd in the event at Summer Juniors a year ago with a 23.62.
Jackson Cooper, a Villanova commit, dropped over 12 seconds from his lifetime best in the 800 freestyle. Cooper had been as fast as a 8:24.66 that he swam in July 2025 at Ocala Futures but blasted a 8:12.51 in Irvine to finish 7th overall.
