Cauã Angelotti of Brazil has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Ohio State beginning in fall 2026.
Angelotti competed at the Brazilian Junior Winter Championships at the start of June. There he swam to a lifetime best in the long course 200 butterfly, touching in a 2:06.91. His highest finish came in the 800 free where he swam a 8:05.80. He also had top 8 finishes in the 1500 free (15:43.05, 6th) and 200 free (1:51.83, 6th).
Angelotti’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:
200 free: 1:51.31 (1:37.39) 400/500 free: 3:54.38 (4:22.61) 800/1000 free: 8:05.80 (9:04.31) 1500/1650 free: 15:43.05 (15:24.55)The Ohio State men finished 3rd at the 2026 Big Ten Championships with 1035.5 points, finishing only behind Michigan (1208 points) and Indiana (1544.5 points). The Buckeye men went on to finish 13th at the 2026 NCAA Championships and were led by Tristan Jankovics who scored 21 individual points.
Based on his best converted times, Angelotti would have been 5th on the roster in the 1650 free and 7th on the roster in the 500 free this past season. It took a 4:21.99 500 free to score at the 2026 Big Ten Championships. The 1650 free only had 23 scoring swimmers and Angelotti’s best converted time would have finished 18th overall.
Angelotti will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Jack Wroblewski, Sawyer Davis, Teagen Renze, and Mattaus Rammel.
