ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Multi-platinum group Smash Mouth rocked MLK Park in Rochester on Thursday night for Party in the Park. The group is known for the song “All Star” and their interpretation of “I’m a Believer.”
Sophistafunk, a band known for their blend of funk, hip hop, and dance music, opened the show. News10NBC’s very own Berkeley Brean acted as master of ceremonies.
Smash Mouth has sold millions of records and has been used in film soundtracks, including the Shrek franchise.
The summer concert series takes place every Thursday at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park through Aug. 13. There will also be a special Friday performance on Aug. 14 featuring Almost Queen.
This year’s lineup includes both nationally touring artists and local artists across multiple genres.
General admission is $7, and children 12 and under get in free. You can get tickets online here, in-person at the Auditorium Theater on East Main Street, or at the gate.
