Gable recently spent time on the coaching staff at St. Thomas University, helping lead both the women’s and men’s teams to top-five team placements at the NAIA National Championships, teams that cumulatively boasted more than 20 NAIA All-American swimmers last season.

“I am incredibly excited to start sharing the deck with Izzy,” said SCAD’s Head Coach Rob Zamorano in a press release from the school. “Her passion for both the sport and what our university stands for were clear from day one. I am honored to share the team, department, and school’s goals with her and can’t wait to see what we can accomplish.”

Gable’s career as a swimmer included stints at Tennessee (Division I), Lindenwood University (Division II), and Calvin University (Division III), ending her competitive career at Calvin, where she was an All-American as a member of the 400 free relay that finished 6th at the NCAA Division III Championships in 2024.

“I’m incredibly honored to accept the position of Assistant Swimming & Diving Coach at SCAD… I’m grateful for every step that’s led me here. My experiences as a student-athlete and coach have been shaped by incredible mentors, teammates, and athletes who have continually challenged me to grow.” Gable said in the press release from SCAD. “I’ll always be thankful to Head Coach Caesar Asadi and everyone at St. Thomas University for giving me my first opportunity in collegiate coaching and trusting me during my first year. I’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to former Assistant Coach Molly Dunphy for her encouragement and belief in me, and to Head Coach Rob Zamorano for his kindness and support throughout this transition. I’m excited to get to work, invest in our artist-athletes, and see what we can accomplish together in the Hive.”

The SCAD women finished runners-up to Keiser at the NAIA National Championships this past season, while the men finished 3rd, only trailing Keiser and Cumberlands.
