SwimAtlanta 15-year-old Kylie Mann had a huge swim in the 1500 meter freestyle, stopping the clock in 16:56.04. She finished 17 seconds ahead of 2nd place Avery Dillon from Katy Aquatics.
Mann, who is part of the class of 2029, came into the meet with a lifetime best of 17:08.34, which she swam in July of 2025 at the Futures meet in Ocala. This drop gave her a U.S. Open qualifying time, her first time achieving this standard as the LCM time sits at 17:07.99.
The winner of the boys’ 800 freestyle also saw a massive drop with South Lake Aquatics Club’s Jack Reburn, also a 15-year-old. He stopped the clock in 8:16.85, a two-second drop from his pre-meet best of 8:18.94, which he set in June at the Speedo Sectionals in Ocala. Reburn came into the season at 8:27.07 from June of 2025.
He finished just ahead of Charles River Aquatics’ Maxx Vazirani, who stopped the clock in 8:17.87, a four-second drop from the 8:21.69 he swam last July.
Bolles School’s Lucas Young also had a big drop. He won the boys’ 200 IM in 2:04.44, a second-and-a-half drop from the Fort Lauderdale Open in May of 2026.
Young, who is 18, is committed to the University of Michigan for the fall. Young finished a second-and-a-half ahead of teammate Charlie Russell‘s 2:05.96, a full second drop from the 2:07.40 he set in June of 2026.
The final significant drop came in the boys’ 200 backstroke, where SwimAtlanta’s Cade Anderson stopped the clock in 2:01.81. He dropped six tenths from the 2:02.44 he set back in July of 2025. Anderson just wrapped up his freshman year at Duke.
Other Event Winners
Girls 200 IM: Aliana Marakovic (NTRO), 2:17.60 — 19-year-old Aliana Marakovic, a rising sophomore at Harvard, won the 200 IM in 2:17.60, a three-tenth add from the 2:17.27 mark she set in July. Girls 50 Free: Ella Gaca Thiele (FAST), 25.76 — USC commit Ella Gaca Thiele swam 25.76 in the 50 free to drop three hundredths from the 25.79 she set in May. Boys 50 Free: Jack Boysen (FCST), 22.99 — Rising Wyoming sophomore swam 22.99 to win the boys’ 50 freestyle. This was a one-hundredth drop from his pre-meet best of 23.00 from August in 2025, but he was just off the 22.87 mark he set leading off the 200 free relay. Girls 200 Back: Carly Afanasewicz (PAC), 2:16.10 — Phoenix Aquatics Club’s Carly Afanasewicz won the 200 backstroke in a slight add of 2:16.10. She has a best time of 2:15.11 from June, and she is committed to Georgia for 2027. Girls 50 Breast: Marizel van Jaarsveld (AESC), 31.77 — South Africa’s Marizel van Jaarsveld swam 31.77 in the 50 breaststroke to drop half-a-second from the 32.17 she swam in June. Boys 50 Breast: Kiefer Roemer (TFA), 28.19 — Roemer, who just finished his freshman year at Missouri State, won the 50 breast in 28.19, a three hundredth drop from the 28.22 he swam in June of 2026. Girls 400 Medley Relay: Fort Collins Area Swim Team, 4:17.52 — The team of Cody Monajjem (1:06.04), Josie Stahl (1:13.28), Abby Lehmkuhler (1:02.90), Ella Gaca Thiele (55.30) swam 4:17.52 to finish eight hundredths ahead of the Bolles School Sharks, who swam 4:17.60 Boys 400 Medley Relay: Bolles School Sharks, 3:47.01 — Carter Wright (58.46), Charlie Russell (1:03.59), George Dovellos (54.25), and Tommy Lussier (50.71) swam 3:47.01 to win the 400 medley relay by seven tenths over the TFA ‘A’ team, who swam 3:47.76
