The 3rd night of the Madison Futures was again highlighted by Northwestern soon-to-be senior Stuart Seymour.

After winning the 100 back on night two, Seymour picked up two individual event wins on night three of the meet, besting teammate Cade Duncan in both events. He started the night with a win in the 50 backstroke, stopping the clock in 24.89, a half-second drop from his previous best of 25.33 that he set last July.

He finished more than a second ahead of Duncan’s 25.99 in 2nd. He added one hundredth from his best of 25.98, which he set last August.

Seymour picked up his 2nd win of the session in the 100 butterfly. He swam 52.24, another personal best time, to finish three tenths ahead of Duncan’s 52.54. Seymour dropped from the 52.73 he set last summer, and Duncan dropped almost a second from the 53.48 he swam at the Pro Swim Series in Indianapolis. He has seen major improvement in the event this season, coming in at 54.09 from July of 2023.

The girls’ 50 back went to Devyn Sargent, who is about to start her junior year at Yale. She stopped the clock in 29.41 to best Team Charlotte’s Joslyn Bolton, who touched in 29.53.

Sargent added a little more than a tenth from the 29.26 she swam at the Indianapolis Pro Series in June. Bolton, who is committed to Miami for the fall, dropped more than a second from her previous best of 30.55, which she set in June of 2025.

Carmel Swim Club senior and University of Tennessee commit Molly Sweeney won the girls’ 100 fly in 59.78. This was a three tenth add from the 59.46 she swam at the 2025 U.S. National Championships last June.

Sweeney was the only one under 1:00 in the event with 15-year-old Kam Gardiner from the Peoria Area Water Wizards finishing 2nd in 1:00.73, a full second drop from the 1:01.43 she swam at the beginning of June.
