2026 U.S. Summer Junior Championships
August 3-7, 2026 Irvine, CA LCM (50 Meters) Meet Central Psych SheetsAudrey Derivaux and Luka Mijatovic are scheduled to continue their long course season in Irvine as both appear on the pre-scratch psych sheets for Summer Juniors next week. Both are competing in U.S. Nationals this week in Irvine and the two have punched their tickets to represent the U.S. at Junior Pan Pacs next month in Vancouver.
Both athletes had a busier schedule already this week in Irvine as Derivaux has already completed four events and Mijatovic has raced in three. Derivaux is the top seed in the girls 200 butterfly with a 2:07.41 entry time, her only entry.
Mijatovic’s only entry comes in the boys 100 free where he is the top seed with a 49.80. He notably swam faster with a 49.19 for 18th in prelims at U.S. Nationals on day 1. He scratched the event for finals.
Also highlighting the psych sheets is 16 year old Gabi Brito as she is slated to compete in seven events. Brito is also currently at U.S. Nationals. She is the top seed for Summer Juniors in the 50 back (28.37), 50 free (25.42), 100 free (55.25), 50 fly (26.47), and 100 fly (59.05). Brito has the chance to defend her Junior National title in the 100 fly as she won last year in a 59.49. She also was highlighted by a 2nd place finish in the 100 free (55.49) a year ago.
Lane Francis is the top seed in both the girls 100 (1:00.37) and 200 (2:11.11) backstrokes. She made the ‘A’ final of both events a year ago as she was 6th in the 100 (1:02.07) and 5th in the 200 (2:13.36). At only 16 years old, Francis could become the 14th 15-16 age grouper to ever go sub-1:00 in the 100 backstroke. Francis is also currently competing at U.S. Nationals this week.
After finishing 2nd in the 1500 free at Summer Juniors a year ago, Ellis Crisci has the chance to sweep the distance events on the boys side. Crisci is the top seed in the 400 free (3:54.02), 800 free (8:01.18), and 1500 free (15:10.75). He is the top seed in the 1500 free by almost 25 seconds.
