It’s a Brand New Day for Spidey. After his multiverse antics and Avengers team-ups, Peter Parker is flying solo in New York in his latest MCU outing.
The hype surrounding Brand New Day is more feverish than any superhero film since the last Spider-Man film (Spidey is in a different league, though, so it’s hardly fair), partly thanks to the success of No Way Home.
It’s not just No Way Home that’s building hype for the latest Spidey adventure. It’s been over a year since the last MCU entry (Fantastic Four: First Steps) and it drops just months before Avengers: Doomsday, the latest team-up movie that brings pretty much every hero from every universe up against the formidable Doctor Doom.
Beware, though. If you haven’t seen Spider-Man: Brand New Day, turn back now.
Is there a post-credits scene in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
We see Ned’s Spidey tracker app pop up on the screen showing that Spider-Man has been sighted in New York. The tracker then follows Spidey as he gets further and further away from the city, glitching out before eventually settling somewhere in outer space.
Or maybe it’s teasing some far flung planet beyond our solar system where Spidey ends up in Doomsday? Currently, we don’t know if Spider-Man will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, though given that both Robert Downey Jr and Kevin Feige have hinted at the cast being a lot larger than what’s already been revealed, it seems reasonable to assume he’s going to show up at some point.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day ending explained
In her grief, she manages to take control of a thousands of people across New York, freezing them in place just as Spider-Man arrives. After fighting his way through the ninjas of The Hand and getting a handle on his new, amped-up Spidey powers, he makes it to Jean Grey. There he shares a treasured memory of Aunt May with the grieving mutant, helping her realise she’s not alone.
On death's door, The Punisher takes Spidey to hospital where Jean uses her psychic powers to keep him alive just long enough for him to get help. After healing, Peter wakes up as a crowd of Spider-Man fans outside wish him well, helping him to realise he’s not as alone as he’d previously thought. Following a brief and hilarious Punisher diversion, Peter manages to escape the hospital and get back to his life.

How does Spider-Man: Brand New Day set up Avengers: Doomsday?
Jean Grey is the first major X-Men character to be introduced to the Earth-616 (main MCU universe), giving us our first tease of what to expect from the mutants in the MCU. Given that the next phase/saga is expected to be heavily focused around the X-Men, Jean Grey’s appearance feels like the biggest surprise of all.
As for Doomsday, we’ll have to wait and see.
