“We are suffering. Koda is suffering," she said, referring to her other dog. "Please give us time to grieve and we’ll be back at some point. Our baby, the closest thing to a child that Steve and I will ever have, was only 15 months and 10 days old," she continued, referring to her boyfriend, Steve Neild. "Life is so cruel and unfair. This one I’ll never heal from," she concluded.

Gosselin received love and support from her fans, many of whom commented on her post with condolences.
"You love your dogs so hard (as I do mine). I am truly so sorry for you, Steve, and Koda. What great love Meika had while she was here! From a true dog lover and shepherd owner whose heart is so broken for you," another fan added.
