A subset of PlayStation fans will down their controllers for a week in August to try and get their voice heard on a number of matters.
When is the PlayStation blackout?
The PlayStation blackout will start on Sunday 23 August at 7pm local time, and it will end one week later on Sunday 30 August at 7pm local time.
If you want to take part, all you need to do is log out of your PSN account and turn off your PS5 for the duration of the protest.
Why is there a PlayStation blackout happening?
The most recent and high profile of these issues is the announcement that PlayStation will stop producing physical discs in 2028.
Despite the fact that 85 per cent of PlayStation games sold are done so digitally, a vocal community has been arguing against this decision from the moment it was announced, with 340,000 fans already signing a Change.org petition to try and change Sony's mind.
