The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 7 will be better than ever, according to star Angie Katsanevas.
“It’s going to be amazing. I think there’s a lot of … focus on deep friendships, which is what I believe makes Salt Lake City successful,” Angie, 52, exclusively told Us while promoting the new “GoDaddy School of Hustle Podcast,” which she is hosting. “I say that because sometimes I ask myself, ‘Why is Salt Lake so popular? What do people love about it? What makes us different?’”
She continued, “Everyone is so funny in their own way, but the relationships are real. The friendships, I think, there’s a lot of love and mutual respect with all the women, and the dynamics in this group are so interesting. It’s like an NBA team where every player is required and the relationships are.”
Angie stars on RHOSLC alongside Lisa Barlow, Meredith Marks, Mary Cosby, Heather Gay, Whitney Rose, Bronwyn Newport and “friend of” Britani Bateman. Season 6 ended with multiple falling outs after the cast’s trip to Santorini, thanks to an especially tense interpretation of the group as a Greek tragedy.

As for season 7, which wrapped filming in May, Angie hinted to Us that the cast’s dynamics are “evolving.”
“The bond is getting deeper, and I think you feel that … growth with time,” she said. “[We are] really getting to know each other on a deeper level after a few years. I think you’re going to see the friendships deepening, but you know, with that comes more hurt, but more joy and more fun, and also, I think that you’re going to see a lot more of everyone’s authentic self.”
Angie further teased that the entire cast has “hit their stride” in the upcoming season.
Clifton Prescod/Bravo“We’re seeing everyone in their truest form,” she said. “I can’t really see anyone surprised me, and I think it’s because I’m getting to know the women more, how they tick, and how they move. … I mean, it was a very interesting, unique season.”
When RHOSLC returns, fans may see some healing between Angie and Lisa, 51, who are “slowly rebuilding” their sister-like bond after previous fractures. But as with any Bravo hit, the drama doesn’t only take place on camera. Through it all, Angie — who spoke with Us on July 8 before reports surfaced of her split from husband of 27 years Shawn Trujillo — found a special bond with Heather, 52.
“Well, what’s cool is she has been my ride-or-die this year, and she will be honest with me, and I will be honest with her, and I love that because true friendship is when you don’t see eye-to-eye, but you can tell each other how you feel and how something might be perceived, and that’s a real friendship to me,” Angie stated. “I want to be held accountable. I’m willing to do the work, I’m willing to reflect on myself. If the feedback is given to me in a loving way, and I think we do that for each other.”

Angie even interviewed Heather — who she says has “passed the baton” when it comes to stirring the pot this coming season — for an upcoming episode of her GoDaddy podcast, which drops in September.
“I think she’s definitely one of the more level-headed [cast members],” Angie told Us. “That’s why it was also fun to interview her with GoDaddy. It was kind of, like, we see little bits of her as a business owner [with Beauty Lab + Laser], but it’s pretty cool to hear more of her journey as a business owner. That was great for me because I only know the little I see on the show, and what we talk about as female business owners, but to understand a little more of the challenges and hardships that come with starting a business.”
For the “born hustler,” pivoting to podcast hosting with GoDaddy was a natural fit for Angie.
“I was raised by a hustler. I was raised by a dad that wore both hats. He was the mom, he was the dad. He never talked to us about work, he just showed us how to do it,” she told Us. “I really admired my dad. I had my first job at 15. So I think I was kind of a natural born [hustler]. [I] love to be busy, love people. [I] came out feet first, which means you hit the ground running.”
Courtesy of GoDaddyThe thriving entrepreneur, who owns Lunatic Fringe Salon (with nine locations across Utah and in Idaho and Ohio), acknowledged success is not always linear.
“I think [with] the second [location] was there were moments where Shawn and I would say, I would be in a great place and he would be down, or I would be down and he’d be in a great place. And that was the beauty of having partners, is neither one of you are ready to quit at the same time, or to give up or throw in the towel,” she said. “And one of us would always cheer the other one on, or say we can do this. There’s highs and lows, but when the lows would hit, one person was always in a better place than the other, and that just kind of helped us get through that really difficult time. So having an important partner, whether it’s a business partner or a partner at home, is very crucial [to] getting through the growth [and] the growing pains.”
Angie even shared the mantra that helps her stay motivated.
“Success is out there, opportunity is out there,” she told Us. “You just have to be resilient. You have to be willing to do the work and never get comfortable.”
