On Friday afternoon, Hockey Canada finally announced the roster of players who will participate in the upcoming World Junior Summer Showcase. There are 32 players on the roster, and two of them are Blackhawks prospects.
Defenseman Xavier Villeneuve and forward Ryan Roobroeck, the Blackhawks’ top two selections in the 2026 NHL Draft, will both be in the camp in Windsor.

— Hockey Canada (@HockeyCanada) July 24, 2026The Blackhawks selected Villeneuve at No. 34 overall and then traded up to No. 35 to select Roobroeck.
Villeneuve is headed to Boston University for the coming season, while Roobroeck was traded in the OHL this summer and will begin a year with Guelph in the fall.
Mason West, a first-round selection by the Blackhawks in the 2025 NHL Draft who is headed to Michigan State this year, will participate in the event with a chance to earn a spot on the roster for the United States.
