ROCHESTER, N.Y. — On Wednesday, around 4:50 p.m., Rochester police responded to East Main Street for a reported car crash involving a person on foot, with the driver leaving the scene before police arrived.
When officers got to the scene, they reported finding a 53-year-old Rochester woman who was hit by the car. Officers say the woman was walking south across the street, when the car, which was going west on the same street, hit her.
Police say the driver drove away from the scene after the crash.
The victim was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and police say she is in stable condition.
Officers are currently working to find the driver.
