Former Tennessee star Blake Burke has already made his own history in Knoxville, helping the Volunteers win their first and only national championship in 2024.
Now, a few years later, Burke has etched his name in professional baseball history with the Double A Biloxi (Miss.) Shuckers. On Sunday, the now 23-year-old who’s toiling in the Milwaukee Brewers organization recorded the third 20-20 season in Shuckers franchise history.
Burke has made the best impression possible in 2026 with the Southern League club, and the Shuckers social media team paid tribute to Burke after he nailed down the lofty achievement.

— Biloxi Shuckers (@BiloxiShuckers) July 12, 2026His heroics in Biloxi are nothing new, but Burke has taken it to a new level this season. In 2025, while playing with High-A Wisconsin and Biloxi, he combined to bat .292 with 16 home runs and 82 RBI in 132 games.
But after being assigned to Biloxi for the 2026 season, he belonged to the Shuckers and now he belongs in Shuckers history after Sunday.
Burke hit .326 during his freshman season at Tennessee and set a freshman record with 14 home runs. He then hit .280 with 14 homers and 43 RBI as a sophomore, before setting a Volunteers record with a 31-game hitting streak as a junior.
He was drafted by the Brewers with the 34th overall selection of the 2024 MLB Draft, just a few weeks after he helped Tennessee to that national championship.
Burke didn’t win a championship on Sunday, but he made another lasting memory for another fan base.
