ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Another fantastic day to be outside! Highs will be in the low 80s (mid 70s along the lakeshore), dew points in the low to mid 50s, a modest northeast breeze, and plenty of sun. Just remember your sunscreen and you’ll be fine! Tonight a few clouds will build with lows in the low 60s.
Monday and Tuesday the heat and humidity begin to build, with Tuesday in particular seeing a heat index near 100 degrees. Still Green on the Threat Tracker for now, but if heating trends increase we may issue a Yellow Alert. One thing to note however is that it will be breezy, especially northeast of Lake Erie where gusts will reach 30 MPH. This will offer some relief.
Either way, the high heat and humidity won’t last long. Temperatures subside back into the 80s and keep falling through Friday, as skies remain mostly sunny and mainly dry. Small chances for showers here and there, but better chances for unsettled weather will be next weekend. Scattered thunderstorms are expected Saturday, then showers mainly east on Sunday, followed by more chances for isolated thunder on Monday. This is still a ways out, so we will have updates on the rain chances later this week and storm timing for the weekend. Stay tuned!
