A Point Loma High tennis player has been selected as the top player in the San Diego Section, highlighting the Spring All-CIF list of top area athletes.Senior Nick Lilov was selected by the Coaches Advisory Committee for the honor, becoming the fifth Pointer in history to win the section singles title with 6-4 and 6-0 set scores in the finals at the Balboa Tennis Club.Listed as a four-star recruit and ranked No. 93 in the nation, Lilov will attend UC San Diego in the fall.Lilov’s teammate, freshman Max Lawson, was also named to the first team all-CIF list.From the court to the pool, girls swimmer McKenna Carroll, a senior, was named CIF Swimmer of the Year after winning three different events at the section championships.Other Pointers on first-team all-CIF lists were Hunter Reddeg, a senior catcher for the highly rated Pointer baseball team. Beach volleyball players Aurora Fernandez, a junior, and senior Caroline Tadder were also honored.
