BRIGHTON, N.Y. — The Brighton Town Board is set to discuss whether to accept an anonymous $25,000 gift for the police department.
That’s according to the town board’s agenda for Wednesday. A letter from Chief David Catholdi is asking the town board to authorize the department to use the donation to buy items outside the normal operating budget, including a new breakroom for officers. Catholdi’s letter requests that the recent donation, along with a $20,000 donation from last year, be transferred into a facility improvements fund.
“Both of these very generous donations will create a legacy in funding a new breakroom that will be remembered for many years to come,” the letter says.
