The Chicago Pride Parade, a decades-old North Side tradition, is expected to bring hundreds of thousands to the city on Sunday in what organizers described as a celebration of love and unity.
Now in its 55th year, the parade features around 150 colorful floats, entertainment, live performances and much more.

For those looking to take a spot along the route, there are plenty of options, as the parade actually spans four neighborhoods. Organizers did note, however, the area along North Halsted fills up quickly, so you’ll want to arrive early.
The incredibly popular parade steps off near Sheridan and Broadway, heading south on Broadway before turning onto Halsted.
The two-mile route then moves east on Belmont, back to Broadway, then south to Diversey, ending at Cannon Drive.
This year’s theme, Free to Be Proud, “honors the legacy of those who paved the way while affirming our ongoing commitment to ensuring every person can live openly, authentically, and with dignity,” according to organizers.
Three Grand Marshals have been tapped to lead festivities; Tracy Baim is a journalist and historian, while Evette Cardona is a philanthropist and community advocate and Mona Noriega is a civil rights leader.
