ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A crowd gathered at the Rochester Public Market on Thursday night to cheer on Team USA during its final group stage match before moving on to the round of 32.
The market hosted a watch party with two giant screens. It wasn’t the result Team USA wanted, losing 3-2 against Turkey. However, it wasn’t a consequential loss for the U.S., as the team had already won Group D and secured a spot in the direct eliminations.

This isn’t Rochester’s first watch party this World Cup. On June 12, Rochester’s East End was packed with people cheering on Team USA during an outdoor watch party for the first group stage match against Paraguay. This marks the first men’s World Cup that the U.S. has hosted since 1994.
Watch party also set for Friday
The Rochester Public Market will also hold a watch party on Friday from 6 p.m. to midnight. There will be tables, seating, soccer-themed activities, and live music from Flying Object Band.
Friday night’s World Cup schedule includes four games: Cabo Verde vs. Saudi Arabia, Uruguay vs. Spain, New Zealand vs. Belgium, and Egypt vs. Iran. You can see the full schedule here.

Team USA will take on Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday, July 1. The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern Time in Santa Clara, California. Bosnia placed third in Group B, with one win, one loss, and one draw.
