GTA 6 developer suffers legal setback in "huge moment" for fired workers ...Middle East

News by : (Radio Times) -

We first caught wind of trouble afoot at Rockstar when on 30 October 2025, Rockstar sacked 31 employees on the grounds of “gross misconduct”, with most of these employees being based in Rockstar North’s Edinburgh studio.

The Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB) called the dismissal a “calculated attack on workers” and revealed that the 31 members were part of a “private trade union Discord channel”, alleging that the firings were “unlawful and retaliatory”.

Radio Times has reached out to Rockstar Games for comment on the latest decision.

The tribunal hearing runs from 10 September to 15 October, meaning that, failing any appeals, we should find out the verdict ahead of the release of Grand Theft Auto 6.

Alternatively, the tribunal could find that Rockstar unlawfully discriminated against employees because of their trade union membership or activities.

Regardless, Radio Times Gaming will continue to provide coverage on the ongoing dispute.
