Denver Broncos Day 2 Minicamp: Bo Nix upgrades to 7-on-7 work as team closes out camp ...Middle East

Sport by : (Mile High Sports) -

The Denver Broncos were on the field for their second day of minicamp on Wednesday, and it would be their last day of minicamp as the team now prepares to move into their brand new training facility.

Bo Nix was on the field for consecutive days and even upgraded to participating in 7-on-7.

Denver Broncos wrap up minicamp as Bo Nix upgrades participation

Tuesday’s practice was our first look at Bo Nix for the first time since he had surgery on his ankle. During his first practice, he was limited to position drills and group work with receivers and running backs, but upgraded to participating in 7-on-7 on Wednesday, and his first throw was impactful.

He found RJ Harvey for a touchdown on his first play in an upgraded participation setting, then connected with Marvin Mims and Troy Franklin on throws in the following plays.

That would summarize the rest of Nix’s participation on Wednesday as the team held him out of team drills and move the ball drills.

“I said to him, ‘I’m glad we got that nice clip to RJ [Harvey],” Payton said. “We can throw that on our social media B-roll for the next month and then calm the group. He’s doing good.”

Observations from Day 2 of minicamp

The Broncos offense and defense each traded wins during various team periods. There was a lot of competition across the board today. Seventh-round linebacker Red Murdock flew around with energy on the field and had several plays where he would have made an impactful stop in a real game scenario.

Jonah Elliss had one heck of a pass rush series in one of the team periods, including a clean spin move that saw him get into the path of the quarterback during one of the move-the-ball periods.

Jahdae Barron saw more reps during team drills and had a nice play in coverage downfield.

The Broncos felt like they achieved a lot of good work over the course of the last month during OTAs and this week during minicamp, that they felt good enough to head into the last remnants of the offseason in a good spot before they report for training camp at the end of July.

On top of that, the Broncos will be moving from their current team facility into their new one, and the older building will be demolished before training camp begins.

For this team, they’re heading into the pre-training camp lull with some positive momentum.
