ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Anthony Jacobs, who was convicted as a teen in a deadly attempted carjacking in Gates, has been resentenced after his conviction was overturned.
The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office said Jacobs pleaded guilty again to attempted robbery and was sentenced to ten years in prison, with five years of post-release supervision.
His original conviction was overturned in December due to a procedural issue.

Police said Jacobs and Edgar Tolentino shot 71-year-old Richard Sciascia while trying to steal his car in April 2021.
Tolentino was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022. The two were 16 at the time.
