ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Veterans from Honor Flight Rochester mission 96 will return on Sunday afternoon at Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport.

This was the third and final mission for the spring season. The trip included 59 veterans going to Washington, D.C. to see national monuments.

Honor Flight is quickly nearing 5,000 veterans flying to D.C. for free.

For veterans who want to make the trip but can’t or don’t want to fly, there’s a new option. Livingston County Veteran Services is partnering with Honor Flight Rochester to launch Mission 98.

It’s a first-of-its-kind bus trip to D.C., and it’s happening Oct. 2 to 4.

Veterans and their guardians are asked to sign up for the trip by June 15 and include “M 98 Bus” under the additional health concerns section of the application.
